The Leicestershire Road Club are pleased to be running the

Coritanian* Crippler rides

Sunday 21st February, 2010

A set of 3 cycle rides that must be completed within a time limit, following a detailed route sheet over the lanes to the north east of Leicester. The routes go into Rutland and Lincolnshire before returning to the HQ on the northern outskirts of Leicester.

A certificate is awarded to all succesful finishers.

The entry fee is only £3.00 per rider.

The three rides are called: -

• The Crippler - 80 miles in 6hrs 30 mins. Starts at 8.30am

• The Leg Breaker - 65 miles in 5hrs 30mins. Starts at 9.00am

• The Sore Legs - 50 miles in 4hrs 30 mins. Starts at 9.30am

Times include any time spent at the optional café stop.

The Leg Breaker (65mls) can be cut short, and thus become the Sore Legs (50mls) by cutting out the additional 15 miles and going straight to the café stop halfway round. This option is not available on the Crippler.

The route is all on quiet lanes and you will be surprised at how hilly the route is.

You may enter on the line, but there is a limit of 200 riders, so you are advised to pre-enter by post. Its only £3 which includes route sheet, certificate, toilets and changing facilities and off road car parking. NOTE - Route markers and sag wagon are NOT supplied at this low price, you are expected to be self reliant.

Under 18’s must be accompanied by parent or have parent’s written consent.

*The Coritani were a tribe of ancient Britons who lived in a hill fort on top of Burrough Hill, over which all three rides go. This is the highest point on the Sore Legs and Leg Breaker and second highest on the Crippler.

Entries will be accepted on the day, but to be sure of a ride and avoid a wasted journey, you are advised to pre-enter by post, cheques payable to "Leicestershire Road Club". Please note that the bank will not accept cheques made out to Leicester Road Club so we also canot accept them - please take care to use the correct name.    Sorry, we do not have internet entry facilities.
